Toronto, Canada – August, 2014 – Ben’s At Home, the self-funded first feature film from the Canadian team of director/writer Mars Horodyski and actor/writer Dan Abramovici, is coming home to Canada from an accolade-filled festival run that includes winning the IndieFest award for Best Actor, the Best Comedy Award at the 47th annual Houston WorldFest, and now the prestigious Best Feature Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival – An Oscar qualifying festival that received over 5000 submissions this year from which 260 films were
selected to represent 65 countries. The filmmakers and cast, which includes Canadian Comedy Award winners and Toronto Second City alumni, are thrilled to have their Canadian Premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival later
Ben’s At Home follows the newly 30 and single Ben (Abramovici) as he copes with life, love, and bouncing back from a bad breakup. Heartbroken and cynical after he’s dumped by his girlfriend, Ben makes the unusual decision never to leave his house again, revealing in the struggles that follow the extent to which social media shapes our personal lives. Relevant and witty, the film speaks to the heart of our scattered, digital age, and is a topical and comedic look at today’s wired generation.
The quirky naturalistic coming of age comedy stars Dan Abramovici (Indiefest Best Actor) along with a red hot cast of Canada’s best comedic talent –Jim Annan and Rob Baker (Second City Mainstage alumni), Inessa Frantowski (Gemini Award Winner, Avicii video star); Craig Brown (Canadian Comedy Award winner) and award winning dramatic actors Jess Embro, Clara Pasieka (David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars), and Kimberly Sue-Murray (Guillermo Del Toro’s Crimson Peak).

Ben’s At Home has been a true labour of love for Canada’s independent film community. Horodyski, Abramovici, and Ekborn produced and financed the film themselves along with crowd funding. Horodyski was recently chosen to be a part of Oscar Winner Melissa Leo and TIFF alumni Ingrid Veninger’s inaugural pUNK Films Femmes Lab and is currently working on a second feature script with Abramovici.
